Orofino’s Annual 4th of July Celebration will be one for the memory books.  This year’s fireworks show will be the biggest Orofino has seen.  In addition to our already incredible fireworks show Orofino’s own PyroManiacs are dedicating this year’s fireworks finale in memory of Clarke Burnham. Pyro-technicians Roger and Dale Burnham have donated $500.00 and the team of PyroManiacs that put on the Orofino show have donated another $500.00 in order to put on the largest fireworks and finale show ever put together for Orofino. This is the 10th year that Roger has overseen the fireworks show, and Dale was in charge for the 8 years previous to that. Clarke was always a contributor and supporter of the show as well as many other Orofino projects over the last 55 years and the PyroManiacs thought this would be a great way to say Thank you for all he has done for Orofino.

Before the fireworks show you can start your day off with the Orofino Community Float, this is not an organized event, just bring your life jacket, kick back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you.

If the floating the river is not your thing you can enjoy an all American day of baseball.  The American Legions will be playing the Moscow Blue Devils at Orofino High School beginning at 11am.

Beginning at 5pm the Orofino Rotarians will kick off the festivities at the Orofino City Park by serving up some All American BBQ treats.  The from the BBQ goes into their general fund so they can continue to support the community through foreign exchange students both inbound and outbound, RYLA, Christmas for Kids, Lifeline Food Bank, Dirty Hands Projects and many more.  During the BBQ they will be selling their 18th Annual Rotary Log Drive Tickets, The Log Drive and Log Drive winner will be announced at a later date.  Proceeds from the sale of their log drive tickets goes to their scholarship program.  This year we are giving away three $2,500.00 scholarships to graduating students of our district.  I believe this is the five years in a row we have been able to give out $7,500.00 in scholarships each year. All because of the support of the community.

Our Veterans will be honored during the VFW Color Guard and National Anthem that takes place at 5:30pm at the City Park.  Gwen Hutchison will be singing the National Anthem.

Our OCI Royalty will be selling mini American Flags and glow in the dark necklaces, the proceeds will go back into our fireworks funds.

Amish Rake Fighters will provide FREE LIVE MUSIC beginning at 6pm, music will continue throughout the evening until sun goes down.  Bring your lawn chair, throw down a blanket and enjoy the entertainment.

At 10:10pm the biggest and best Fireworks to ever be seen from Orofino will begin.  Fireworks will be shot from the Orofino City Park over the Beautiful Clearwater River!
