Orofino Chamber of Commerce is honored to have Steve and Leila Crockett as our
2017 Grand Clauses for the Annual Old Fashioned Light Parade – Rockin’ around the Christmas tree!
Steve Crockett was born and raised here in Orofino, Leila moved here when she was 10 and has been here ever since. They have three children, Tony, Tim and Will and have 5 grandchildren. Steve and Leila have owned Orofino Builders Supply since 1974 and now have three stores. They love Orofino, mostly because of the people, everyone is always so friendly, even as the town has grown the people remain friendly. This community means everything to them and they show it through their constant generosity to the community and children. They support the sports and teams, Eagle Scout projects, senior projects, and so much more! Builders Supply has been in the Christmas parade almost every year since it began, they even have several first place ribbons from the event. Leila’s most memorable entry was their Wounded Warrior float, it had a walkway that led up to a little house and she was the mother welcoming her son home from war, she remembers all the hoots and hollers as they drove past the VFW, she still gets choked up talking about it. The wounded warrior they were honoring was Doug Williams, he had just returned home. She accounts many of their floats, sitting high on top of a rollercoaster, being Mrs. Clause, and many more. We are truly blessed and thankful they are this year’s Grand Clauses.
