Dworshak Dam Visitor Center, located at the top of the  dam, is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between Memorial and Labor Days, and M-F after Labor Day to  Memorial Day.Exhibits highlight the history and wildlife of the area.

 

 

 

 

Dworshak Reservoir

Dworshak Reservoir - 53 Mile long lake created by Dworshak Dam. The Clearwater River

The Clearwater River:

 The Clearwater River has long been known for its large Steelhead Trout. Returning from the sea, with some weighing in over 25 pounds. Also there is a run of Chinook Salmon that return in the late fall. The Dworshak Fisheries Complex is responsible for the success of these runs. Dworshak National Fish HatcheryDworshak National Fish Hatchery Complex:

Dworshak National Fish Hatchery Complex is located at the  confluence of the North Fork and mainstem Clearwater River in Ahsahka, Idaho, 3  miles west of Orofino, Idaho. The Complex consists of Dworshak National Fish  Hatchery, Idaho Fishery Resource Office, Idaho Fish Health Center and the  Kooskia National Fish Hatchery located at Kooskia, Idaho (managed by the Nez Perce Tribe).  Dworshak hatchery production is co-managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nez Perce Tribe. Walla Walla Community College
Clarkston, WA – 2 year A.A.A. and A.A.S. programs are offered in administration assistant (financial, legal, medical), nursing, and liberal arts, as well as certificates programs.

University of Idaho (U of I)
Moscow, ID – 4 year, located 30 miles north of Lewiston. Offers nearly 150 areas of undergraduate study and 105 graduate degrees.

Washington State University (WSU)
Pullman, WA – 4 year, located 32 miles northwest of Lewiston. WSU offers more than 150 undergraduate programs and 100+ masters and doctoral degrees.

 

Primary and Secondary Education

Orofino Elementary School
Grades PK-7.  Located at 1000 Michigan Ave., Orofino Idaho.  We are located in Orofino Joint School District 171.

Orofino High School
Grades 8-12.  Located at 429 Michigan Ave., Orofino, ID. 

 

Healthcare

Clearwater Valley Hospital & Clinics - 24+ bed inpatient hospital facility. Fully staffed 24 hour care provided by family practice physicians, RNs, LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants. ER and helicopter services also available.
